Mantis - what is mantis, and how to go there.

Postby Tomse » Tue Aug 11, 2009 5:50 pm

When you've asked a question, and we find out it is or it might be a bug, or a feature request; you might be asked to log it in Mantis.

Now for new users who haven't read the wiki pages found here http://sitracker.org/wiki and need a quick way to mantis here it is.

Mantis is the Bug tracker used by the SiT developers and can be found here http://bugs.sitracker.org
For you to be able to log a bug or perhaps a feature you'd like to see in SiT, you need to create an account.

Please do a search first before reporting your bug (unless you are asked to do so) , there is a big chance that the bug already has been reported.
If the bug hasn't been reported please be as accurate as possible using the pulldown menus.
A big help would be to also type in the page name i.e. site_contracts.php. - More help with creating bug reports can be found here http://sitracker.org/wiki/Bugs

By submitting bugs and feature requests you help to improve SiT.

Thank you for using SiT

If you have a problem, give us enough info of what you have done, what is configured in relation to your question.
Enable debugging and post it's censored but relevant info. Don't forget to write which version of SiT you're running.

We sometimes use the following tags in forum topics, this helps everybody find posts with questions that have answers and also to see which posts have questions that still need resolving.

[RESOLVED] - The issues raised were resolved / solution found / questions answered etc.

[ESCALATED - The solution to the issues raised can be found elsewhere / Bug reported / Somebody plans to look into it.
(Note, that if a bug was reported the topic often won't be updated after the bug is fixed, you should monitor the bug report if you want to follow progress)

[FIXED] - The issues indicated a problem and the problem was fixed / Bug fixed / Issue solved

[NEEDSINFO] - There's currently not enough information about the issue for anybody to suggest a solution / Please post more information about your issue

[PLUGIN] - This is a forum thread for a plugin, in this thread you can talk, get help, suggest improvements etc for the plugin mentioned in the title
