Yeah, thats right. When the slashes were the other way round, Dreamweaver kicked out a syntax error and wouldn't allow me to close the php brackets. Even when encapsulated in ''. After switching the slashes in the attatchments path, everything just suddenly came to life. :D

Hi,

Ahhh I understand it now, the final \ in the path was escaping the ' character at the end, so the string was not closed. That's one to watch for the in future because I imagine lots of people will fall foul of that one.

Cheers,

Ivan

If you look at the attachment path, the final backslash escapes the closing quote and so causes the white screen. I'll log that as a bug.

edit: too slow!

Hi there,

I can confirm this behavior.
The blank white page after putting in the DB information. Went into the config.inc.php and switched the slashes from \ to / - refreshed and the next page came up.

Environment:
Windows 2K3SP2
wampserver 2.0h

config.inc.php
Before: $CONFIG['attachment_fspath'] = 'C:\wamp\www\sit\attachments-26468d53a466c032717ddcce052a1aea\';
After: $CONFIG['attachment_fspath'] = 'C:/wamp/www/sit/attachments-26468d53a466c032717ddcce052a1aea/';

Thanks
Glenham
