[RESOLVED] Request

Postby stonej » Mon May 17, 2010 7:31 pm

Hello,

I've tried this and cannot figure out how to do it, but it would probably be easy.....we use the skills like teams. So Network jobs have the network skill so we can all see the incidents. Now a few of our users would like to see all the "teams" incidents on the homepage as a dashboard item , so i created a dashboard_incidents_by_skill but cannot get the sql right...

Is this a vaild request ?

Thanks

Jeff

Hi Stonej,

Do you want to post your code somewhere so we can have a look at the sql statement? i have written 2 or 3 dashlets that i can adapt to maybe do what you want. If i understand you want to see all incidents from all users in one window? What columns do you need in this dashlet? Something like "id, Title, owner, status"?

Cheers

Thats good and nearly there.....what the user wants to see is:
When you click on Support > My Incidents, whats listed under Other Incidents (All Open) so on the front page they can see ALL incidents that assigned under there skillset. Don't think thats she needs the Action and Waiting queues just the All Open.

Thanks for this...

Hi Jeff,

Just a quick question:

Did you create user groups in SiT? For example we have 2 groups (hardware and software), and obviously the users in group "hardware" only have skills hardware. In this case it makes it even easier to write a more global Dashlet.

Awaiting your response

Hello,

Never actually used groups, but I could set them up. At the moment we are using softwareid - listed as skills(?) So the network team have the skillset of networks, sys-dev have the skill set sys-dev. Would the groups work the same way ?

Jeff

Now added groups so if that would be easier.....

Hi Jeff,

Groups will definitely work. You can create new groups, and then you can put users in each group created. That will make it much easier

Hi Jeff,

OK .. so here is the first version of a brand new Dashlet called "Group incidents", and here is a small screenshot:

Image

It is still in very rough form and needs to be tidied up, but you can try it for now and see what you think.

Get it here:
http://sitracker.svn.sourceforge.net/vi ... incidents/

Give me your feedback and we can make any tweaks befoer doing a final release.

Great job Nicdev!

I haven't tried this yet, but it looks very useful.
