Change contact usernames?

Postby joshua » Wed May 04, 2011 7:59 am

I've done alot of reading and google'd as much as i can see, and cannot find an answer to this. Is it possible to change the contact usernames that are randomly generated with numbers following the users first initial and last name? Even if i had to do it in the database, or change the way it was randomly generated, that would work too.

Any advice someone could provide would be very appreciated.

Thank you!!!!

You can alter the database table 'contacts' manually if you like, or you could create a plugin (Creating_Plugins) to do that.

There is already a feature request in Mantis (our bug tracker) to improve the way that usernames are generated, maybe you could add a comment to that with your ideas/support. (See Bug 744).

Hello Josh.

once the contact has been created and if she has access to the portal, she can change her username. Click on the name in the upper right corner, and she'll be able to change her informations.

Cheers
