Migrating to another physical server

Postby jemitloo » Thu Feb 02, 2012 4:09 pm

Hi,

I have migrate my sit installation to a new physical server and the db to a new one too.

I have modified the config.inc.php file with new informations.

But when i try to connect i see the index page without any CSS style and login failure.

Can someone help me please ?

Many thanx

hello jemitloo and welcome.

1) you might want to take a look in the config.inc.php and adjust the attachment path to it suits with your new path, if it changed.
check if your database settings are correct (username, password, hostname)

2) in the database there's a table called 'config' or 'sit_config', or whatever you changed the prefix to.
take a look at the url/hostname and see if thats correct.

I could be led to believe that the problem lies in step one

hope this helps.

cheers

have you checked the permissions on all the files?

try also to enable the debug log

if it doesn't exist in the config table (debug = true/false) then add the following

Code: Select all
$CONFIG['debug'] = true;
$CONFIG['error_logfile'] = "<path_to>/sit3.log";

to your config file. and replace the path where needed.

cheers

Hi guys

I had this problem also, confused me for ages until I found this post.

The 'application_webpath' in the config table was wrong on mine.

Thanks for posting.
