User Groups
From Sit
| SiT! Manual | Administrators Guide → User Groups | Chapter 4 |
In order for teams of engineers to work together more effectively, SiT! supports the concept of a user Group.
User Groups are notional categories in which to place users, a user can be a member of a single group or no group at all. Only an administrator is able to change the group that the user is in.
User groups are optional, a default SiT installation has no groups and so users aren't placed in groups.
Being a member of a group has a couple of small advantages
- The User list page is filtered by default to show only users from your own group
- The reassign page is filtered by default to show only users from your own group
To create a new user group and manage group membership an administrator can navigate to SiT! | Control Panel | Users | User Groups
